THE POWERHOUSE OF BATTERY PRODUCTION

Volkswagen (Anhui) Components Co., Ltd. is the first battery system plant to be wholly Invested by Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. Its initial annual capacity will be 150,000 to 180,000 high-voltage battery systems for Volkswagen Anhui’s all-electric vehicles based on the Group’s Modular Electric Drive Toolkit (MEB platform). With an area of over 45,000 square meters, the plant will be located next to the production facilities of Volkswagen Anhui, Volkswagen’s first majority-owned joint venture for all-electric vehicles. Volkswagen Group China is investing over EUR 140 million until 2025 in the new plant and its facilities, with the start of production (SOP) targeted for last quarter.

Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety Policy

VWAC, as a component provider, endeavors to become a role model for environment protection and safety production. To reduce our environmental footprint we use our effort to address environmental challenges of our component production. At the same time, we keep improving the occupational health and safety management in the production process to provide our employees, suppliers and visitors with a healthy and safe working environment.

As the first battery system plant wholly owned by Volkswagen Group China, we have a strong, diverse and talented team of commercial departments, including HR, Finance, Administration, Security, EHS and IT departments. Our Plants

VWAC produces high-voltage battery systems for Volkswagen Anhui’s all-electric vehicles based on the Group’s Modular Electric Drive Toolkit (MEB platform), with the start of production(SOP) targeted for the second half of 2023. VWAC will be a “smart factory” with high-tech featured equipment and systems and will play a key role in Volkswagen Group's electrification strategy.
